Day Fifteen: Friday

Day Fifteen ~ Friday, May 10

Lazy day today. Hollis wanted to rewards us for our big day yesterday, and so we had a late wake up followed by low activity.
Small breakfast was at 9 a.m., but Hollis wanted to get us more food, and so he and Christina went down to the store when it opened at 9. They returned at 9:45.
People slowly assembled for breakfast, and we really didn’t do much other than fussball, reading and journaling. As a chef, I helped prepare lunch at noon, which was also a “slow to assemble people” meal because many weren’t very hungry yet. In this time Hollis and Christina ran check-ins, where we talked about how we felt about the semester and our contracts. I think both Hollis and I enjoyed the meeting. After lunch, we got ready for our brief day hike. It was about 1:30 p.m. at this point.
Hollis took us hiking with the intent to find large patches of snow. He wanted to teach us about self-arrest stopping yourself if you slide down a slope of snow. People, I think, were excited just to go “butt sledding,” but some people were pretty good at stopping.
After a couple hours of this, and hiking higher and higher to find good patches of snow, we finally made our way back to the Chalet.
Dinner was special tonight. Hollis and Christina decided that we had had enough OP sandwiches and so had made reservations at a local restaurant. I had spaghetti bolognaise. It was delicious.
Then we went back to the Chalet for evening meeting and program. Then I played some more fussball with people. I challenged Hollis and ended up giving him the best challenge thus far, though he still remained victorious. Then we teamed together against the “dream team Sean and Norman” and popped their bubble. Sorry, not sorry! And that was today!
